One of my favorite things about being a Wilmington, North Carolina photographer is the opportunity to get to know amazing families. I’ve been photographing this family for the past two years, and what a joy it has been to get to know them! I met little Maison when he was just a few days old. What a fun adventure it has been to watch him grow! It’s hard to believe he’s already two years old, talking in full sentences, and lighting up the room with his bright smile wherever he goes. When I get these boys in front of my camera, I always leave smiling!
I’ve learned a lot from this momma, too. She’s soooo amazing with her kids, and it’s been fun to talk to her about her two boys – mine will be almost 4 years apart, similar to hers. It’s always encouraging to talk to other moms who have been where I’m headed, and her advice is always sweet, helpful and positive – the best combination!
Military life isn’t easy for any family. But they all handle it with grace, and I am so thankful for them and others who willingly sacrifice so much for the good of our country. I have such admiration for this family, who has stayed strong, together, and resilient through so many challenges. What a joy it is to see them all together, smiling, and enjoying each other. It’s such a great reminder for me to be thankful for all the little, imperfect moments I have with my family.
For this family photography session, we ended up at Mike’s Farm, a popular destination for family portrait sessions. It was a perfect fall day, and we enjoyed the beautiful evening light.
If you ever need family photo session wardrobe inspiration, this momma has it. Every time we do a session, I’m in love with the outfits she has chosen! And she usually comes up with some fun little add-on, like the adorable knitted hats she brought for their Christmas pictures. Love it!
