When it comes to military wives, Chrissy is definitely one of my heroes. Braving a deployment with four young children is difficult to say the least, and she made it through with shining colors. These four little ones were expecting to welcome their daddy home last month, but things got delayed… and I must say I was SO thrilled to hear he would finally make it back in time for Christmas!
With my husband getting out of the Marine Corps next month, and my access to base soon to be limited, I was contemplating just not booking any more homecoming sessions, but after this… my husband and I both agreed that maybe, just maybe, I could keep shooting a few homecomings here and there. I mostly specialize in newborn and family photography, but for now… I’m not sure I’ll turn down a homecoming request. They are just such HAPPY events, and I always come home so encouraged and THANKFUL for what I have! Military servicemembers and their families do go through a lot to protect our country, and I am so. very. grateful.
This session was oh, so precious because I knew the long and difficult deployment this family endured. From little girls bringing colored pages to their daddy, showing him their shoes, twins getting freaked out by a giant gingerbread man, looking, longing, waiting, and then finally witnessing the beautiful reunion of a beautiful family… it pretty much made my day! It was the perfect final session of the first year of my photography business.
Thank you to our military servicemembers and their families, and merry Christmas to all!
I was wondering if you would be available to do homecoming pictures in May. My husband is supposed to be coming home the first week of May and it will be the first time he will meet his daughter. Thank you very much!
I would love to help you out–sent you an email!
